About Word Bloom & how to play

Word Bloom

Unjumble a little word garden. Choose short words or a bigger challenge.

Choose words that match the player’s spelling confidence. Clues can be read aloud so the game can focus on spelling.

How to play

  1. Read or listen to the clue.
  2. Tap the letters in word order. Use Undo to return a letter.
  3. Check the completed word and grow another bloom.

A worked example

For the clue “a pet that purrs,” the letters T, C, A can be rearranged as C, A, T. Tap them in that order to make CAT. Undo returns a letter if you change your mind.

Choose your next round

Choose three-, four-, or five-letter words. Each round draws five words from the selected trail. The collection has thirty words, and another round shuffles the choices.

Try it together

Say the word first, then listen for its sounds while choosing letters. Read the clue aloud together if reading it would distract from spelling. There is no need to rush.

There are no time limits or penalties. Optional read-aloud uses hosted recordings where available and a browser voice for other sentences. For grown-ups & privacy
