Pocket Money: count, pay, and make change

A free U.S. money game designed around ages 6–9. Move coins and bills into a tray to answer a money challenge. An optional four-coin warm-up introduces the penny, nickel, dime, and quarter before a five-challenge round.

How to play

  1. Read whether you are counting an amount, paying an exact price, or making change.
  2. Drag money into the tray or use its tap controls. Remove a piece when you want to adjust the amount.
  3. Check the tray. A correction explains the mismatch; the help lesson offers another example. Finish the round to earn an award on this device.

A worked example

To pay 35¢, combine a quarter worth 25¢ and a dime worth 10¢. If an item costs 35¢ and you pay 50¢, the change is 15¢: one dime and one nickel. Different combinations can have the same total.

Try it together

Ask the player to name each coin’s value before adding. A larger coin is not always worth more: a dime is smaller than a nickel. Start with counting familiar coins, then move to prices and change when the player is comfortable.
