Multiplication Arrays Game
Build a rectangle. Discover equal groups.
Play now →Robot Garden is a free multiplication game for children ages 6–9. Build a rectangular flower patch and connect its rows, flowers per row, and total. The same flowers can be counted one at a time, in groups, or with multiplication.
How to play
- Choose a trail and read the required rows, flowers per row, or total.
- Use + and − under Rows and In each row. You can also tap a square to fill the rectangle above and to its left.
- Compare your patch and its multiplication statement with the goal, then choose Check garden.
A worked example
Two rows with three flowers in each row contain 3 + 3 = 6 flowers. Set Rows to 2 and In each row to 3: the display shows 2 × 3 = 6.
Three trails to explore
- Sprout: make the equal groups named in the challenge.
- Explorer: work out how many flowers belong in each row.
- Whiz: build larger equal groups on a six-by-six patch.
What to notice
Equal groups need the same number in every row. A total alone may not describe the requested arrangement. Explain what each number in the multiplication statement represents.
A little help when it matters
Every game has a step-by-step “How to play” guide, optional spoken instructions, and hints that explain mistakes. Five challenges earn a medal saved on the device. There are no time limits or penalties for trying again.
Try this together
Compare two rows of three with three rows of two. Both contain six flowers, but the number of rows and the number in each row are different.
