About Little Atlas & how to play

Little Atlas

Six countries. One little adventure. Learn the map, then try a quiz.

A six-country introduction to Europe. New map readers can explore the labeled map together before trying the quiz.

How to play

  1. Read or listen to the country name.
  2. Tap its outline or its matching numbered country button.
  3. Use a hint to learn where it is, then try again.

A worked example

Portugal is the narrow country west of Spain. Find Portugal on the labeled map, then try locating the same outline without names. Country buttons offer another way to choose the same shapes.

Choose your next round

Learn with names leaves labels visible. Quiz without names asks you to recognize the outlines. Both cover Portugal, Spain, France, the United Kingdom, Germany, and Italy; this is an introduction, not a complete map of Europe.

Try it together

Ask which countries touch and which are separated by water. Use the outline and neighboring countries as clues, rather than memorizing only a button number.

There are no time limits or penalties. Optional read-aloud uses hosted recordings where available and a browser voice for other sentences. For grown-ups & privacy
